Während Moses' die art und weise, kompositionen zusammenzusetzen, wurde teilweise von ihrem sinn für abstraktes design bestimmt , die arrangements waren immer den anforderungen der landschaft untergeordnet . Als ersatz für die akademische perspektive ( was sie nie gelernt hatte ) , sie griff nicht nur auf ein fortschreitendes schema abnehmender größen zurück , sondern auch zu koloristischen raumindikatoren . Sie bemerkte schnell solche eigenschaften wie das blasse blau entfernter hügel , oder die tonalen abstufungen des himmels . Sie übersetzte von der natur beobachtete phänomene in farbschleier und pigmentschichten .
